Objectives

 The Cultural Ambassadors Programme organised by The HKFYG Leadership Institute and funded by the American Express, aims to nurture future leaders in heritage conservation through systematic training, as well as contribute to the community by preserving local culture with joint efforts of the passionate youths. Culture Ambassadors will be granted opportunities to lead heritage tours around the Former Fanling Magistracy, a Grade 3 historic building and the local neighborhoods, honing their presentation and communication skills through regular practices


Programme Features

  • Lead the public to admire the historic building in North District
  • Inherit Hong Kong history and promote traditional culture
  • Enhance presentation and communication skills


Eligibility

  • F.4-6 secondary students 
  • Proficiency in Cantonese, while good command of English and Mandarin will be a plus
  • Experience in leadership role will be a plus
  • Interest in local culture and history


Training Schedule

  • 7 February: Orientation Day
  • 14-16 February: 48-hours Fundamental Training Camp
  • March- June: 5 sessions of Advanced Training
  • July- August: Final Assessment for Graduation


Requirement

  • Attended the fundamental training session and 70% of advanced training sessions 

  • Lead at least 8 tour sessions


Fee

  • $600 (Early Bird)

  • Deadline: 2019.1.8 (Wednesday) 23:59

  •  $900 (Regular Track)

  • Deadline: 2019.01.29 (Wednesday) 23:59


** A subsidy of $400 will be provided for programme participants after leading 8 sessions of heritage tours
