Resilient City Planner

The Summer School for Global Leadership 2022 (SSGL) is a five-day intensive leadership training programme that empowers young future leaders with perspective, mindset, desire and commitment to initiate positive changes. Aims to nurture young leaders with the commitment to serve to transform their vision into action on enhancing the local city resilience.

Around 50 students from 20+ schools collaborate in a 5-day camp to come up with innovative proposals to help make HK a smarter, more resilient city. The students' creativity and their diligence are highly appreciated! The opening ceremony was officiated by Professor Ling Kar-kan’s tips on city resilience which are 3R: Reliability, Responsiveness & Resilience.  With the thematic training for Basic Urban Planning Concepts, stimulation workshop for Sustainability Leadership & Global Citizenship and sitevisit for urban resilience facilities, Capstone Resilience Project topic were came up as Connectivity & Walkability, Revitalisation of the old district, Flooding mitigation and Street hygiene which demonstrate students' sustainability leadership, team collaborative mindset and innovation solution. The Capstone Project which enables them to demonstrate their learning outcome through proposing innovative suggestions to increase the Hong Kong’s capacity to shocks and stresses caused by climate change.

Togther with our judge panel:   Mr Kevin G. Orr,  Ir CHU Kei Ming, Barry,  Mr Eugene Liu and Mr Damien Wu expertise and years of experience in urban planning and social innovation, the sharing and comment is a great source of inspiration for our young people.
