Journey Overview

Nepal, an ancient mountainous nation, is home to 8 of the world's 14 peaks exceeding 8,000 meters, attracting nearly 1 million foreign visitors annually. As a developing country, Nepal faces challenges in climate change, education, and healthcare. This program will guide participants through Nepal, using the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a framework to examine the country's development challenges and opportunities. Participants will also explore China's support initiatives and collaborative projects in Nepal.

In this journey, you can:

  • Visit the Chinese Embassy in Nepal

  • Interact with local young nuns and provide volunteer teaching

  • Tour World Heritage Sites and other tourist attractions

  • Stay with villagers to deeply experience local rural culture

  • Engage in dialogue with founders of various local social enterprises

Pre-departure Workshop (1)

  • Date: 24 November 2024 (Sunday)

  • Time: 10:00-13:00

  • Venue:  HKFYG Leadership Institute (302 Jockey Club Road, Fanling, New Territories, Hong Kong)

  • Content: Team building, sustainable development leadership and "Belt and Road" Initiative training, itinerary overview

Pre-departure Workshop (2)

  • Date: 15 December 2024 (Sunday)

  • Time: 14:00-16:00

  • Venue:  HKFYG Leadership Institute (302 Jockey Club Road, Fanling, New Territories, Hong Kong)

  • Content: Team building, group presentations, pre-departure briefing

Post-departure Sharing Sessions

  • Date: January to March 2025

  • Time: Around 2 hours

  • Content: Reflect on the journey's takeaways, share experiences with other youth
