Yes! You can certainly join classes with two different themes. As storytelling technique and using humour effectively in your speech could yield to very different results. However, the fee varies depending on the number of classes you sign up for. You may wish to refer to the APPLICATION FEES section to check out the price difference.

Example 1
School A - Nominating 25 students & sign up before the early bird offer deadline

= eligible for the group early bird offer


Total Application Fee

= Regular (contest only) x 20 students + Early Bird (contest only) x 5 students

= HK$90 x20 + HK$45 x5 = HK$2025


Example 2
School B - Nominating 20 students & sign up before the early bird offer deadline

= ineligible for the group early bird offer


Total Application Fee

= Regular (contest only) x 20 students

= HK$90 x20 = HK$1800


Example 3
School C - Nominating 25 students & submitting after the early bird offer deadline

= ineligible for early bird offer


Total Application Fee

= Regular (contest only) x 25 students

= HK$90 x25 = HK$2250


Example 4 
School D - Nominating 10 students & submitting before the early bird offer deadline

(5 of them are joining the pre-contest training) 

= eligible for the INDIVIDUAL early bird offer


Total Application Fee

= Regular (contest only) x 5 students + Early Bird (for individual applicants) x 5 students

= HK$90 x 5 + HK$200 x 5 = HK$1450

Please prepare crossed cheque payable to "The HKFYG Institute for Leadership Development Limited".

Post the cheque to: The HKFYG Leadership Institute, 302 Jockey Club Road, Fanling, N.T.

On the envelope, please indicate: The HKFYG EPS Contest 2022 Group Application Fee.

On the back of the cheque, please write (a) teacher's name, (b) school name and (c) contact number.

The Secretariat will issue an official invoice to participating schools before the Chinese New Year and allow 30 calendar days for cheque settlement.



Payment by Students (part of a group application)


For students who are part of a group application but will pay the application fees on their own, please note that payments can only be settled online.

Payment instructions will be sent to students by email within 7 working days (weekends and public holidays excluded) upon receiving the application.

Please be reminded to add SC@leadershipinstitute.hk to the Safe Senders list/address book so as not to miss any emails from us.

An email (and SMS) that contains: (a) reporting time on the Contest date (b) reminders about Rules and Regulations, and (c) comments by adjudicators, will be sent to all District Semi-Finalists soon.

Please check your junk box / spam folder first if you cannot find the email. Make sure the mailbox you are checking is the one you used in your application and for previous correspondences.

If you still cannot find the email, please email us at SC@leadershipinstitute.hk with your full name, Contestant ID, contact details and an alternative email address.

ARRANGEMENTS IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19

The HKFYG English Public Speaking Contest 2022 will be moved online. 

Pre-Contest Training will be conducted virtually, details will be sent to applicants shortly. District Preliminary Rounds and District Semi will be conducted in a hybrid mode.  

In view of the latest situation of COVID-19, we continue to monitor the situation closely. Should safety measures and subsequent course arrangements require a change in contest format, all updates will be announced in due course.

  • The organiser reserve the right to change, modify, add or remove elements or contents of the programme at any time without prior notice.
  • The organiser has the right of final decision and interpretation when disputes arise.
